Monumental Louis XV Rococo carved wood architectural boiserie door panel with supraporte painting. Panel has detailed applied rocaille ornament include shells, acanthus foliage, and scrolling cartouches. Painted harbor scenes influenced by Dutch marine painting were frequently used in Paris interiors during the 18th century as neutral decorative landscapes. The restrained carving and architectural organization correspond to work produced by Paris-region workshops during the Louis XV period and leads to plausible 19th Century French hotel renovations.
